Description

In 1975, starting with Issue 99, the title of *Little Rogues* was officially changed to *Oriental Heroes* and published by “Horizontal Books” . In response to the government’s revised “Undesirable Publications Ordinance,” the publisher successively launched comic newspapers (*Sang Po* and *Golden Bo Daily*), switched from black-and-white to color, changed the reading orientation to landscape, and began publishing daily in newspaper format. Thanks to the daily serialization and the switch to color, the readership surged significantly. 

The early *Oriental Heroes* stories underwent a transformation with the introduction of the leader of the “Tsuen Wan Fifteen Wolves,” the Great Wolf King. The Great Wolf King had trained in martial arts under Japan’s most powerful gang—the “Rakshasa Sect”—and the entire narrative began to shift starting with the “Rakshasa Twin Demons” arc in issue 88 of *Little Rogues*.
The introduction of the “Rakshasa Sect” gradually steered *Oriental Heroes* toward the development of a long-form narrative. The content featured more in-depth character development and a stronger narrative structure, paving the way for *Oriental Heroes* to become one of the “longest-running and most iconic” comics.
